It was a great day for up, just got to hold that pace to the top.
Legs must be useless no though. Well done!
they feel surprisingly good, I tried to ramp it up a bit on the springs as there were tourists. I did a big slide around the corner and was foaming out the mouth.
Just what all the tourists came to see?
they didnt speak english, but I stopped near them to take a photo and made sure they could see me giving myself some drugs.
I then did a big burnout on the way off shouting about winning the yellow jersey.
Great work mate, I new you were super motivated for that segment, hope you can keep it for a while.
until torben takes it back (he is = KOM for it atm)
have a look at marc's mary's time today!!! FAST!!
Iain, good job on the tourist edumacation. Stu still pipped me at the top of Mary's Hope but I think he disappeared off into the bushes to puke afterwards.
nice work.....hmm 26 seconds i can do that
we all know you can beat me baz, I will let your tyres down pre wellington TT.
if the event is still on ;)
Those new wheels seem to be doing the job!
Brendon the wheels are mental uphill (i am not so much) downhill they are interesting...
Nice work mate.
Iain, what's your puncture mitigation strategy for the tubulars?
Ant, I think it involves buying new wheels!
yeah if they puncture, I use my phone, dial a lift and figure out where I will get another $80 to get new tyre / get fitted.
Okay. I have a can of squirty latex stuff. (Can't be bothered with the traditional preglued spare tied under the saddle with an old toe clip strap.) No idea if it works though. Marc has the most appropriate solution I think.
The other alternative is a neutral service vehicle. Works in Le Tour. Mostly.
i would be interested to see if the glue stuff works from a can, just dont want to test it really.
Carry a spare tire wrapped up already sticky with glue? I believe there is a method for this that would get you home. Wouldn't try descending on it but might get you up the hill worst case scenario.
