Nice job Dan! Running up mountains looks like it paid off.
Thanks, James! I wish I was a bit faster. Goal for Sacramento is 3:15, although of course I'd love to be faster than that. Question is how this extrapolates. I can see I slow down on dirt, and the hills slow me down a lot because I'm a slow descender so can't make up time lost climbing. But Sacramento is flat & fast. If I can get 3:10 @ Sac that will be great, but I don't think I could have done that on two laps of this course. On the other hand, I've only barely modified my training for this race, while for Sac goal is to come in fresh.
P.S. Official time here was 3:32:26, 82nd place overall out of 3632 total runners (80/1781 males, 1851 females). That's top 5% of males, so I can't complain.
Great job Dan - 1:32:26 is none-to-shabby ! I predict you'll run 3:03 @ Sac.
Nice to see you today Dan! Tried to catch you after seeing you before Fort Mason turnaround but to no avail, ended finishing 3 minutes down.
That was nice of you to say hello, Sami! Tim: thanks for that confidence boost! But I'll resist the temptation to formally modify my 3:15 goal. If I get sub-3:15 I am not allowed to complain.
